MUMSS would like to wish everyone a happy 11th of October – The Day of the Macedonian Uprising. On this day in 1941, the Macedonian partisans from Prilep and Kumanovo, who were mostly students, began an uprising against the Bulgarian fascist occupying regime, with the hope of achieving an independent Macedonian state. 3 years later in 1944, they succeeded in achieving their dream and established an autonomous Macedonian state within federal Yugoslavia.
